Secret Forest Walks

Bullarto Walk 2

Length: 7.2km

Time: Allow 2 hours walking time

Terrain: Mainly flat to moderate slopes

Direction of travel: Clockwise

Telstra: Poor/no reception

Notes: One of our most popular walks, The Bullarto Walk is a varied and fulfilling walk. The walk takes in some supremely lush, green forest with a tall tree canopy, grasses, ferns and also some tree ferns (my favourites) lining the Kangaroo Creek. There are some lovely and secluded grassy picnic spots beside the creek. Keep a look out for a huge wombat hole and some remarkable eucalypts. Midway is the Bullarto Reservoir, a small, peaceful and little known body of water nestled in the forest and is ideal for a relaxing picnic. It is usually deserted, so itís a bit like having your own private lake. The walk then loops around the reservoir and ascends through dense forest to a quiet all weather road, which will take to the return leg of the forest walk. The return to your car is through grassy, mature forest and includes the biggest tree in the Wombat forest that I have seen in my many years of exploring. The Bullarto Walk will fill you with a sense of wonder and harmony.
