On the border of medium/hard walking, The Bullarto Walk extends the Bullarto (Short) walk, with its fern lined streams and hidden reservoir, with a steep walk to the summit of an extinct volcano offering panoramic views to Cobaw Ranges. The hill is inhabited by Koala and the tall eucalypts and neat native grasses help to create a park like environment. At 840m above sea level, the air is notably crisp and clear. The return to your car is through grassy, mature forest and includes the biggest tree in the Wombat forest that I know of. The Bullarto Walk couples rich forest floor, still and running water and scenic, elevated views to reward all of the senses.
