For fit or reasonably experienced walkers, this substantial walk includes tall forest, a gem of a rainforest gully and a Banksia lined drier section. Starting from a popular picnic spot deep in the Wombat Forest, it’s hilly, with the mildly named Day Tk involving a 140 m ascent over 1.8km being a serious thigh tester. But this will take you to the top of the Great Dividing Range and some fine views. Best with an early start and non weekend, it’s an all encompassing walk that will create lasting memories.
